1,000 Reasons A Customer Never Stops To Buy

Marketers who throw all creativity out the window with only one purpose, stop at nothing to get anyone with a pulse to buy their products, are zombies. You are walking around lifeless. No passion. Looking to squeeze life out of people just to make a sale. Don't guilt trip your customers to shop. There could be 1,000 reason a customer never shops your store. Your negative sign will not be the #1 reason they come in.

I drive by this sign every week. Why don’t I stop? Is it the bars on the windows that signal to me the neighborhood might not be safe? No. This store happens to be in the richest neighborhood of Chicago. Maybe the mannequin are too creepy? Nope, that’s not it either. The reason I don’t stop in, the clothes don’t appeal to me and nothing in your window is telling me they are exciting, new, trendy and worth the effort to walk into the store. A few tips for the merchandiser. Remove the bars during business hours. Take down that sign. Throw the clutter away to make your windows razzle dazzle. Show off the inside of the store from the windows. Marketers, please stop being clever. Put the extra work in to be creative, clear and amazing.

Just Hit Send

Stop over thinking this. This is not high school. You can’t keep stressing over sending an email campaign as if it’s like asking out the senior crush from down the hall. Public humiliation is not the result if your customer says no. If you don’t take action now, you’ll miss out on what could have been. More traffic to your website. A steady flow of leads. An increase in sales. Find the courage and hit send. Don’t let fear keep you from getting that next big sale. You have nothing to lose. You can do this!

At Chapin Media we help companies write email campaigns that build trust, provide enormous value and generate healthy sales. In all my experience it still surprises me how many companies are underutilizing their email lists.

Remember, if you already possess your customers email address because they gave it to you, news flash – THEY WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU. Yes, they are curious about what you can offer them. So, take a little time, develop a plan and write really good, value-added content. Then, have the courage to HIT SEND.
